Kairos Constructive Counseling
Aimee Meyer
MS, LPC
In my approach to counseling, I envision my client and I as fellow passengers in a car. The client decides the destination, the route to get there, and how fast we get there. My job is to suggest directions when we get lost, and point out alternatives along the way. It takes courage to allow one’s self to be vulnerable with another person, and I appreciate my clients trust in me to help them achieve their goals. I am a fierce advocate for my clients and celebrate them when they achieve personal successes.
I utilize a combination of therapy modalities in my practice including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, along with others, to help clients reach their goals. I also have level 1 Brainspotting training. I believe in being honest and straightforward with my clients. My areas of experience include anxiety, depression, mood disorders, life challenges and changes, grief, career exploration, leadership coaching, stress management, assertiveness, hoarding, and self esteem. I work with individuals and couples ages 17 and up.
I graduated with a Masters Degree in Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. My experience in the field spans over 20 years.
In my time off, I enjoy spending time outdoors, travel, being creative, and crafting. I’d love to travel with you on a road of self healing and growth.
